Our Vision & Our Values

The vision for Our Lady of the Snows is:

This vision reflects our commitment to continuous improvement – we are on a journey of “Believing & Achieving”.

Our strategic goals have been developed directly from this vision, and our new values programme has been implemented because it strongly aligns with our journey of faith and excellence.

Building on the charism of our founding order, we have integrated the Sister of Mercy values into our own school values programme; so that we can promote them and use them to help us make decisions in our daily lives.

Values are encouraged, modelled and explored so that they become an integral component of life as school.

Intertwined in our Mercy values are Tikanga Maori Values – together they help us achieve a values based education for the children at our school.

COMPASSION

The value of ‘Compassion’ is about loving and caring for family and friends. It is showing kindness to people, listening to others and celebrating our differences. Compassion is about feeling that you can make a difference.

AWHINA

The value of ‘Awhina’ is about supporting and helping others. It is about being helpful by looking after ourselves, our school, environment and community.

RESPECT

The value of ‘Respect’ is about serving our church and parish, using good manners and keeping our body and mind healthy. It is treating others how we would like to be treated.
